JACKIE DICI: Painting Old Furniture Nursery Room Makeover

This old dresser, once the dresser in every apartment lived in during college just met its match with paint spray gun. It was just the perfect storage piece for my sisters nursery room makeover. Perky peach paint from Benjamin Moore gave a fun playful pink vibe for the whole room.

When painting anything, the most important part for a professional paint job is all in the preparation.  After the dresser was striped down, broken up, and sanded it was ready for paint. Using a paint gun, apply slow even strokes, and let the paint dry between “dustings”.

[…] Largely, the inspiration was all that of the mom-to-be.  Starting first with the nursery that she wanted to be fun and girly without pastel pinks and an overdose of baby, baby, baby.  Our team (Mom, sister, and me) took from Lauren’s inspirational photos and got a little creative and resourceful.  Thibaut Tanzia wallcovering was the inspiration for the nursery decor.  The polka dot print inspired the crib skirt and curtains that were custom made and loving hand stitched by our mom.   The only obvious dose of pink came from the changing table/ storage dresser that is a sentimental piece to the couple.  It was given new life and purpose in the nursery with a coat of Benjamin Moores Perky Peach paint. See how painted the old dresser in the previous DIY post: Fresh Coats of Paint Part Two […]
