I have a few pieces of artwork that I completely covet. But the two that get the most attention are two that I never intended on being that important. The Prada Replica that hangs over my sofa was a leftover canvas and raw corner bead for a frame that was made quickly to “put something there”. While the numbers aren’t perfect, and with closer inspection neither is my framing skills, this piece gets a lot of adoration.

Another piece that surprised even myself is the acrylic painting over a bedroom headboard. The frame and canvas was purchased from the discounted art bin in Bed, Bath & Beyond that when I found I immediately knew I wanted to paint right over the tacky still life, discounted for a reason. The inspiration for the cover up came from a watercolor print featured in a Room & Board catalog.
I have loved these two pieces of artwork that I personally created for my interiors. Getting resourceful on the materials and inspired by artwork we love is the best way to add art to our homes, because it tells a story.
