Turkey Run Park, Virgina

Here we are. The District of Columbia. Fall foliage, crisp air with bright sunshine. This Florida girl feels like a fish out of water, but the colors of the trees and the slightly warm fall temperatures is making for a smooth transition. We are soaking it up with a scenic drive down the George Washington Memorial Parkway. This is a very scenic drive along the Potomac River with a few lookout spots along the way to stop. Turkey Run Park, or the loop is the spot along the Parkway I have pinpointed because I loved seeing the cyclist, runners, joggers, and fishing by the river. It feels good to see some water as we adjust to the new neighborhood. I have visited Washington D.C., Virginia, and Maryland several times throughout my childhood always being the tourist with a destination from point A to point B. So, cruising around and checking out the land has a different view point. I’m still going to drop by the White House and check off a museum or two but going off the beaten path has it’s fun too.
