I love when accessories are actually functional objects. A polished lantern posed on the console leading to the exterior is a welcoming decorative object, at night when lit it has a beautiful ambience, and perhaps can move to wherever the mood needs to be set. Wink wink.

But let’s take it a step further and think outside the box. Got some trays tucked in a pantry cabinet? Try using them on a coffee table to coral books. Or group some plants together for an interesting centerpiece. Old glass vases stashed somethwere? Put them to use in the kitchen to decoratively store spaghetti packages or snack bars. I love using accessories for function and style.
