Designers are so rare in their essence. They have a way of lighting up a room, making a space feel warm, and giving the home such a feeling of love. As a designer, every space is thoughtfully designed to envelope the people living in it.
When you put your heart and soul into something it leaves behind fingerprints of the love you put into it. The color of wall paint, seemingly simple was carefully curated. A mirror with significance was strategically placed to add dimension and natural light to a dark corner. Or the overlooked exterior light fixtures that were hunted down for the right color, size, light, and price before installed and illuminating the home. Everything a designer had selects is in essence, their fingerprint.
I wonder if the people living in them now could have had the same vision of the now fully grown garden that I had when it was bare. Or why there is a dent in the wall by a light switch that chipped and never got repaired properly. Each detail of this home I have sweated and poured my heart and soul into. I did it not for the home or because I was a designer. But because of the love I had for the family that was living in it. While I am not living there now, I can only imagine the person who lives in my shadow has a very big shadow to fill.
